Slightly Acidic Hypochlorous Acid Water: COVID-19 Virus Eradication Within 30 Seconds

"SEEMS BIOICS Inc., a leading manufacturer of electrolyzed water generators situated in Suwon Delta Plex, has announced promising findings from experiments conducted using Vi-trap (Vi-trap, slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water). According to their report, the COVID-19 virus was found to be eradicated by 99.9% within a mere 30-second exposure period. This breakthrough was confirmed through an official test report (KR-2004-006-SBN02) received from KAL Biotech (BLS3 No. KCDC-09-3-01) on June 3rd. SEEMS BIOICS Inc. intends to introduce the verified Vi-trap as a disinfectant and sterilization gate in the Korean market.
Collaborating with the Tokyo University Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, SEEMS BIOICS Inc. has developed a slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water generator, which has been exported to Japan since 2017. The company has also filed 17 patents related to electrolyzed water and a patent for non-contact adaptive sensors. Their rigorous testing has demonstrated the disinfection efficacy against various pathogens, including norovirus, Legionella, influenza A virus, and Streptococcus pneumoniae. Vi-trap, slated for release in June, has undergone comprehensive safety testing, including COVID-19 virus eradication, skin irritation and corrosiveness assessments, and acute oral toxicity tests.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, the U.S. FDA, and the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare have approved hypochlorous acid (HOCL) as a safe disinfectant. Vi-trap exhibits superior disinfection power, surpassing bleach (sodium hypochlorite) by 80-100 times and outperforming alcohol for disinfection purposes.
Ensuring stable pH levels (5-6.5) and concentrations (10-80 ppm) during hypochlorous acid water generation is critical. While slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water itself poses no harm to humans, caution must be exercised when using additives that may introduce harmful substances.
SEEMS BIOICS Inc. has extended support by providing approximately 10 million won worth of Vi-trap to institutions such as Daegu City, Goyang Joyful Independent Living Center, Dangjin Seongmo Hospital, Suwon Yeongtong-gu Office, and Suwon Delta Plex Management Office, all grappling with the impact of COVID-19. In a recent development, the company has also entered into a business agreement with Daegu Samsung Lions Park. Lim Shin-gyo, CEO of SEEMS BIOICS Inc., expressed hopes that amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, both domestically and globally, their innovative solution will offer a beacon of hope."
