"I merely wish to provide a modest aid to those grappling with the challenges of COVID-19, with the sincere hope that everyone can swiftly return to a state of good health."
Among those who envision a society where unity prevails is Lim Shin-gyo (58), the CEO of SEEMS BIONICS Inc. He places great value on channeling his company's profits back into society and extends support to various regions throughout the nation.
Based in Suwon, Lim recently made a donation of 2 tons of slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water to Daegu City Hall, which is facing significant challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, he facilitated the installation of their slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water generators (Vi-trap) at locations such as the Goyang Joyful Independent Living Center (hereinafter referred to as the disability center), Dangjin Seongmo Hospital, Suwon Yeongtong-gu Office, and Suwon Delta Plex Management Office. The total donation amounts to approximately 10 million won in cash.
Lim remarked, "Slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water boasts remarkable disinfectant properties and proves effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and various bacteria during this national crisis, prompting our company to engage in social contribution."
Each recipient of the donations was connected through chance encounters. Lim explained, "I learned about the disability center through an acquaintance. My hope is that individuals with disabilities and volunteers at the center can safely engage in their activities."
Expressing pride, Lim stated, "It brings me the greatest joy to hear that the donated items are being utilized where they are most needed." He added, "I've learned that the Yeongtong-gu Office distributes 1 liter of disinfectant produced weekly from the generator to all kindergartens in the area," emphasizing, "It's deeply gratifying to know that the small contributions from our employees can make a significant difference to many people."
Lim's commitment to sharing has been ongoing for quite some time, with active participation in volunteer activities alongside simple donations. Since 2016, Lim and his employees have been participating in and sponsoring the Love Happy Meal program, organized by the Suwon Gwonseon-gu Office as part of regional community sharing. Additionally, since 2015, they have been providing financial support of around 3 to 5 million won annually to nearby disability centers, elderly individuals living alone, and children from single-parent families.
At the core of this spirit of sharing lies a deep trust among employees and Lim's guiding philosophy. Lim remarked, "The reason why we have earned recognition as a specialized company in slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water from Japan and China over several years is because of the hard work and dedication of our employees towards quality and technological advancements." He continued, "If it weren't for the assistance I received from those around me during challenging times, I wouldn't be where I am today."
Lim emphasized, "We intend to continue our donations as long as our products can be utilized with confidence for the prevention of COVID-19 infections," adding, "Even after the COVID-19 crisis subsides, I aspire to create a world where sharing and coexistence remain integral while managing the company."
